Introduction
The Humanitec Minimum Viable Platform (MVP) program is a guided playbook that helps you get started building your platform.
Watch our video providing an overview of the MVP program:
The MVP is priced based on the chosen tier .
Once booked and scheduled, the Humanitec customer success team will pair up with representatives of your organization to execute on it, following a pre-aligned project plan. The team will set up a shared project folder to maintain project tracking artefacts. A Humanitec platform architect will be assigned to you for the entire duration of the MVP, which is typically four weeks.
The content of this Guide is a step-by-step walkthrough of the MVP phases and tracks along with links to supplemental material supporting you during the execution.
Outcomes
At the core of the program is the onboarding of a representative test application onto a first fully functional Internal Developer Platform (IDP) built around the Humanitec products. The onboarding is non-intrusive, i.e. your existing setups will continue to run. The technical outcome is your Minimal Viable Platform (MVP).
You will then validate whether this IDP suits the needs of early-adopting pioneer teams in your organization. You achieve this by demoing the relevant workflows to representatives of those teams using the test application, inviting them to repeat the flow, and collecting their feedback.
The MVP program is a way to show the value of your Platform Engineering initiative – fast – by:
- Identifying a Pioneering team that can lead the way on innovation
- Building a representative first version of the Platform in the context of the Pioneering team’s - non-production requirements
- Having a product-like roadmap for iteration and growth
- Seeking out and engaging the influential stakeholders who can drive adoption
- Getting said stakeholders onboard quickly and maintain excitement
- Avoiding having to win over every single technical team immediately; scale sensibly throughout an organization
