Set up the reference architecture in your cloud

Introduction #

The Humanitec reference architectures for Internal Developer Platforms (IDPs) are tried and true blueprints for building your platform. They provide a structure and common language for your teams to follow, and will help get your design right from the ground up.

The architectures are not just pure theory. Humanitec provides open-sourced, ready-to-use implementations of core parts of the architecture for the major cloud providers, starting with AWS and Google Cloud. Coverage for Microsoft Azure will soon follow.

Please find below links to the public GitHub repositories containing those reference implementations. The READMEs contain all the instructions you need.

We recommend installing the reference architecture with the “Base layer plus Backstage” add-on if you wish to explore further material, especially the Scaffold a new Workload tutorial.
