Organizations

Organizations are the root object for your Internal Developer Platform (IDP) built around the Humanitec Platform Orchestrator .

They are the basic unit of membership for developers and platform teams working together. An Organization is created when you start your IDP journey with Humanitec, usually through our MVP program . When you are invited to your IDP, you are invited to that Organization to become an Organization Member .

You can be a member of more than one Organization.

If you are not a member of an Organization, you cannot access anything owned by that Organization.

Most companies will have a single Organization, while larger companies might have different Organizations for different divisions. All Organizations are independent of each other and cannot share access to Applications.

Access control within an Organization is handled via the Platform Orchestrator RBAC system .
